Plush Toy Production
How Custom Plush Toy & Custom Plushies Are Made: Production Steps
- Flat Sketch to 3D Plush Conversion
The pattern maker begins by drawing paper patterns based on the dimensions of the actual plush design. - Sample Testing Based on Paper Pattern
A trial sample is made using the initial paper pattern. - Fabric Cutting
Fabric pieces are cut out based on the finalized paper pattern using a heat-pressing method. - Sewing Trial Sample
The fabric pieces are sewn into a rough prototype. (This step is refined multiple times—usually at least 3 times by the pattern maker—to achieve accuracy). - Shape Confirmation
Once the trial sample’s shape is confirmed, the next step begins. - Programming the Production File
Each fabric cut piece is programmed into the source file for the production process. - Embroidery & Digital Printing
- 3D embroidery is applied to specific fabric pieces.
- Digital printing is done for the clothes or other patterned parts.
- Sewing the Outer Shell
Once all embroidery and printing is completed, the outer shell is fully sewn. - Turning the Shell Inside Out
The sewn shell is turned inside out to show the correct outer design. - Stuffing
The plushie is filled with PP cotton. - Hand-Stitching the Opening
The stuffing opening is stitched closed by hand. - Brushing/Fur Fluffing
The plush is brushed to enhance the softness and look of the fur. - Shaping & Trimming
The plushie is shaped and trimmed for its final look. - Packaging
The finished plush toy is packed for delivery.
